How many of you throw your lingerie in a box or a drawer and don’t think twice about organizing all your lingerie? I think that we all do that, we don’t really think twice about it because let’s face it lingerie you wear underneath your clothes there is no need to iron or steam them no one sees it but you. The reality of it is that lingerie lasts much longer when taken proper care of. Organizing your drawers can be done in a couple of simple steps that we will guide you through!
-The first step is to go through all your lingerie, try them all on if you have to but throw away items that do not fit anymore and that are unflattering. Get rid of anything that is torn, stretched out, or has lost its shape.
-You have to know what it is you need in regards to lingerie. You generally just need a couple of everyday bras starting from seamless with smooth cups to wear underneath shirts, a bra matching your skin tone for sheer blouses and tanks, and of course a black bra for darker items, a lacy or embellished bra for more special occasions, and of course you need one supportive strapless bra for more shoulder bearing pieces and dresses. And as for panties you can never have enough but generally about 10-15 will do.
-The hardest part is determining where to put what in your drawers and really just organizing all of it. Figure out how you want to organize everything by, you can do it by color, by silhouette, or even function going from casual to dressy. The possibilities are endless its just a matter of what you feel is easier for you to access. One key thing you should keep in mind is to always keep your go to items in the front so that you can easily grab them and go, while as the more special occasion items place them in the back. The way you should stack your bras is very important as well, stack the molded and padded bras flat never fold the cups inside each other, this is the fastest way for the fabric to ripple over time and get ruined. The only exception would be non-padded and underwire bras, you can fold them and store them with the matching panties. Get dividers for your drawers silk-lined would be good because it prevents the bras and panties from getting snagged. The dividers can also be used to divide the bras from the panties and puts everything into sections and categories.
-Try to keep one drawer for items that give you support such as shapewear, thigh slimmers, and short slips. As well as sports bras and exercise tops. Always keep Chemises on padded hangers in your closet, so that it is an easy grab and you do not have to worry about ironing later.
I hope this encourages you to take a look at your lingerie supply and go through everything you have throw out the old and organize the present and shop for the future! Organizing your lingerie drawers is the biggest help and gives you so much easier access to all your lingerie and the quality of your lingerie lasts longer with the proper storage and care.

The main difference between a sports bra and a regular bra is in the construction of the two bras. The sports bra is made to be secure and hold you together, keep you secure while you are exercising and prevent sagging and stretch marks. While a regular bra gives you lift and shape that you like. You never want to use a regular bra to exercise in because everything bounces all over the place and that causes long term damages within time such as sagging like mentioned earlier as well as stretch marks. The support of a regular bra isn’t built for wearing while exercising because it does not give you the support necessary. While as for the sports bra it is made specifically for exercising and moving around rapidly in, it is built to handle the movement and give you the support your body needs. The fabric of a regular bra and a sports bra differ as well while a regular bra is more fashion forward using fabrics such as silk and lace a sports bra is more concerned with using fabrics that can absorb moisture and breath more. So if you were using a regular bra to exercise in, it’s time for you to come in and get your very own sports bra! The difference will be amazing and unbelievable.

The phrase “You get what you pay for,” really applies to lingerie. Many people do not understand how some lingerie is over $50 and can even go up to the hundreds. There is a great explanation as to why the prices vary and why you really need to take the time to pick out a bra that works for your body not worrying about price. Always start off by looking at the quality and make of the lingerie. Fabrics all vary, and you can easily tell the difference, grab a $25 bra and hold It up against a $70 bra and you will automatically be able to tell and feel the difference. Many woman think that because there is not a lot of fabric used for making the bra that the price should be lower but the story behind that is the fact that the labor into making a bra is a lot more work than the fabric. Of course fabric makes the difference but with a cheap bra you simply take pieces of fabric stitch them together, while for a more expensive bra you have people working on it and molding it to into the best fitting bra you have ever tried on, it takes time and detail and that’s what makes the cost of the bra go up. With a cheap bra it takes generally about 10 pieces to put it together, versus the more expensive bra takes up to 40 pieces to put together and make. The fabric that is used for more expensive bras do vary, while using lace you notice that the lace is very expensive and its very detailed and has a very intricate design to it. All elastic is not the same either, the more expensive the elastic the longer it will last. The more expensive lingerie has craftsmanship, very detail oriented, and lasts very long. The next time you go out compare some bras, grab a cheap one versus one that is more expensive try them on get a feel for it and you will quickly see the difference. Spend some more money but walk away with a bra that will give you the support and quality you need, it will be your moneys worth because of how long it will last!

Some believe the origins of lace can be traced back to ancient Egypt, others believe them to be traceable to ancient Rome. No one knows for sure, but one thing is certain, it was the 15th century renaissance that truly sparked a permanence of lace in the fashion industry. Lace nearly replaced embroidery all together because it could be removed from articles of clothing and placed on a new piece. Belgium is now the true home of lace, being the birthplace of many lace-making techniques. The lace making industry involves the craftsmanship of a mere one thousand women employees. There are four kinds of lace;
Duchess Lace, which is made on a cushion using 22 bobbins. (not manufactured anymore)
Rosepoint Lace, thought to be the most delicate, is made with a needle on a piece of tissue paper. (not manufactured anymore)
Princess Lace is used for special occasion pieces, like wedding veils. The net is made by machine with the prints sewn on afterwards with designs on them.
Renaissance Lace is manufactured at the biggest scale nowadays and is generally the strongest lace

Why do women want nightgown dresses and chemises? I believe that the nightgown craving stems from the natural desire to look and feel beautiful at all times. Why not wear a princess ballgown to bed? What’s more is that you feel the beauty internally… it rises out of you and shines around you like a sparkly tiara. There is just something special about walking into a lingerie store and seeing that gorgeous silk hanging off a fluffy satin hanger… and when you slip into it, you feel just as amazing as Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty. That warm and fuzzy feeling nearly mimics that of falling love… or does it just mimic? I personally fall in love with every gown I try on. If only I could buy them all… Alas, the multiple armoires of nightgown dresses only exist in my dreams. Realistically though, I think that every woman should own at least one spiffy nightgown dress. If it makes you feel good and makes you feel special, that’s enough reason for making the investment to me. I doubt many boyfriends or husbands would object either…

1907, was the year when the word brassiere was first reported in an American copy of Vogue. Most major designers of the era tried to lay claim to designing the first bra but in 1914 a woman by the name Mary Phelps-Jacobs patented the first bra and thus gives her the credit for the first bra even though it is known that other bras were around before this.
The Corset can be traced back to about 2000 BC and thru time woman used different methods to support or restrict the breasts from moving. My belief is that as time evolved so did the bra and some people can take credit for different design elements in the bra but many have played a hand in the concept and development as we know it today.

Most women who take the time to get good fitting lingerie want it to last. So here is some advise on laundering your delicates. Start with some good lingerie soap, this has natural chemicals that are soft on the fabrics and revitalize the elastics. Hand washing is highly recommended for lingerie but in these busy times we sometimes get lazy. Your bras should always be hand washed, especially if they have an under wire. Washing your bra at night then letting hang over night takes just a couple of minutes and it should be dry in the morning. As for your under wear, if you are going to use the washing machine, use the delicate cycle on a cold wash and put them in a laundry bag, forget about using the dryer unless you want to purchase new underwear every week. I will write some more on this subject in the next couple of weeks!

Why do we need more than one style of bras? Look at how many different necklines woman wear and believe it or not, every style of bra gives us a different shape, which enhances each neckline. For example: a balconet bra goes great under a sweetheart neckline; a plunge bra works with a low V neckline; a demi-cup bra gives a clean line to a square neck top; So if you are ever wondering how many bras you should have, think of 2 for each different neckline you wear… and don’t forget your basic everyday or t-shirt bra.
